The Protection unit was formed to patrol and monitor forest fire incidents across the project area. Patrolling was done by ground patrol, river patrol and aerial surveillance. In 2017, frequency of patrolling activities has increased to 188 days as compared to previous years. This include 21 frequencies of river patrolling in Sg Segama which cover accumulated distance of about 490km, and 4 aerial surveillances which was carried out in January, February, April and May 2017. Since 2015, no forest fire incident was detected as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.
